On January 13, 2022, the Supreme Court ruled that President Biden could not mandate vaccinations or weekly testing for employers with 100 or more employees. This does not include employees in the healthcare industry which some Supreme Court Justices cited past precedent.
However, this ruling does not mean that AT&T (or other private companies) cannot implement their own vaccine requirements. AT&T’s vaccine requirement predated President Biden’s mandate and will move forward with their policy unless employees are able to secure an accommodation. The CWA has been against vaccine mandates as a condition of employment and continues to encourage employees to follow CDC guidance and Company policy for the safety of their families, friends, coworkers and customers.
